Waters Edge at Delta Coves by Davidson Communities honored as the Nation’s Best New Community

Del Mar, Calif. (Feb. 23, 2022) –  The national building industry’s most prestigious awards have honored Waters Edge at Delta Coves on Bethel Island, Calif. as the nation’s Community of the Year. Situated along the canals of the California Delta, about an hour from San Francisco, Waters Edge is a one-of-a-kind waterfront community featuring a private boat dock for each residence, as well as water-centric architecture and interior design.

Built by Del Mar, Calif.-based Davidson Communities, Waters Edge at Delta Coves was honored at the recent  National Sales and Marketing Awards (“The NationalsSM”), presented by the National Association of Home Builders, an annual competition that attracts entries from the best new home builders in North America.

This is the second new neighborhood built by Davidson Communities within the 560-home Delta Coves master-planned community. Founded in 1978, Davidson Communities is a private homebuilder whose track record includes over 6,000 new homes as well as the historical renovation of such landmark properties as the Grant House and the Amy Strong Castle in San Diego County, Calif., and The Oaks Farms in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Davidson’s first project at Delta Coves – Davidson Collection at Delta Coves – was named Community of the Year at the Nationals in 2020.

"Davidson’s Waters Edge stood out from the rest of the finalists because of its beautiful execution of a cross between sophistication and casual waterfront living,” said Lisa Parrish, spokesperson for The Nationals.

Every Waters Edge home includes a commercial-grade private dock and generous outdoor spaces with covered patios and balconies. Inside, walls of expansive glass allow kitchens and all social areas to open up to the docks and blue water views.  Three two-story floorplans range from 2,483 to 3,331 square feet, with up to four bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Each of the nine elevations live like a single-story home, and certain elevations offers options for an elevator and a Crow’s Nest above the second floor. “Zoom” rooms, wine rooms, U-shaped kitchen islands, snack alleys and floating staircases are popular features at Waters Edge. Woodley Architectural Group was the project architect, with interior design and merchandising by Design Line Interiors, Inc. of Del Mar, Calif. Environmental Foresight of Walnut Creek, Calif. was project landscape architect.

Current prices range from the low $1 millions.

“To be chosen as the best new community in the country – for the second time in three years – is a testament to this truly world-class waterfront community and the designs that our creative teams have implemented,” said Bill Davidson, president of Davidson Communities. “Where else in the country can you live on calm water in an elegantly designed new home, and can fish or launch your kayak from your own backyard dock?”

Delta Coves is an ongoing project of master developer DMB Development of Arizona, who recently opened the Island Camp, an exclusive benefit for homeowners comprised of a 15,000-square-foot private club featuring a yoga room, fitness center, and outdoor area with lounge seating, games, a lap-pool, jacuzzi, barbecues and firepits on a sandy, park-like pavilion.

Waters Edge at Delta Coves is located at 55 Seaward Court, Bethel Island, Calif. 94511. Upon completion, the entire Delta Coves master-plan will be a gated community.
